An Overview of Your AI MCP Connection
Updated
by Josh Gray
The Insightech MCP connection allows you to ask questions about your Insightech analytics data directly from your favourite AI assistant.
You can ask about traffic, conversions, funnels, and errors in plain language, or ask your assistant to set up new funnels or website tracking on your behalf, all from your favourite AI assistant (e.g. Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini Enterprise, and ChatGPT).
Once connected, your AI assistant will use the Insightech platform on your behalf to perform analyses, build reports, and recommend optimisations for you to follow up on.
Who In Your Team Does What
Role | What They Do |
Admin | Depending on which AI assistant you are using, your team admin may need to run a one-time setup step to allow the connector for your organisation. Click through to the setup guides for each AI assistant below. |
User | As a user, you will only ever see the profiles your own account already has access to. You will simply need to login to your Insightech account via your AI assistant, to grant them access to the Insightech data that you can already access. |

What You Can Do Once Connected
- Get a performance overview for any site or profile that you are tracking
- Investigate channel, source, medium, or campaign performances
- Explore funnels, and investigate any key drop-off rates, or changes in conversion rates
- Monitor for errors across your website, and have issues raised along with examples to fix
- Create new custom events, funnels, or segments — without leaving the conversation
- It can read almost everything in your profile and create a limited set of things, but it will never delete anything

Security & Privacy
Each user authenticates individually with their own Insightech account — there's no shared credential, and Insightech never receives your AI platform login. Access is scoped to whichever profiles your account already has, and can be revoked at any time. Your analytics data stays in the region it's hosted in.
