2 - Uncover Insights with Insightech

Now that you have completed the initial setup, it is time to use the Insightech platform to uncover your first insights about your website.

Read through the modules below to learn aboutfkey features and tools that are pivotal to data analysis with Insightech.

1) Create your First Funnel

Setup your conversion funnel to track each stage of your customer journey on Insightech and uncover usable insights to assess customer behaviour.

  1. Navigate to Funnels → Add New Funnel from the Insightech Dashboard
  2. Name the conversion funnel in the top-left corner of the screen and the first step of your funnel below
  3. Input the event for the first step of a customer’s journey. Choose how Insightech captures funnel data for user behaviour from multiple drop-downs
  4. For example - You might want to include all users that enter the homepage with the website URL ("www.Example.com")
  5. Click "Add New Step" underneath each event section
  6. Repeat Steps 2 - 3 for each step of your customer's journey. The last step is the point of conversion (e.g. a purchase, or an account registration).

  7. Click Save Changes and Insightech will create a completed conversion funnel found in the Funnels Section

2) Create your First Segment and Filter

Segments are useful tools that let you filter your data by different rules, metrics and audiences.

To create your first segment,

  1. Expand the Segments and Filter section found on the dashboard
  2. Select the appropriate rules to filter your audience based on users, behaviour and any exclusions
  3. Input the necessary data requirements for each rule through subsequent drop-down list and form fields
  4. Click Save & Apply Save as Segment after a name, description and tag has been selected.

3) Watch your First Replay

Insightech Session Replays are fully interactive recreations of customer journeys through your website. You can overlay different analytics tools to understand how users behave.

These include,

  1. Click Map Reports
  2. Scrolling Heat Maps
  3. Form Analysis Reports
  4. Segments and Filters

Accessing Insightech session replays,

  1. Navigate to Dashboard → Replays
    1. Insightech will automatically generate a list of session replays that reflect any segments or date ranges that are inputted
    2. This list includes the unique User ID, replay duration, pageviews, traffic source and is organised by the most recent replay
  2. Click the Play Icon on a specific session to be redirected to a video player with features designed to uncover customer insights

4) Analyse your First Visual Form Analysis Report

Visual Form Analysis Reports automatically identify your website's form fields and provide customer engagement metrics so you can find potential user drop-offs or unclear input fields. To access Visual Form Reports,

  1. Navigate to Dashboard → Form Analysis
  2. Input the page URL and device type that as you would like to analyse (optional)
  3. Click Continue. Insightech will generate a list of page URLs that include high-level metrics about your website's different form fields. These include,
    1. Page Views
    2. Form Bounce Rate
    3. Median Interacted Fields
    4. Number of Fields (#)
    5. Median Duration
  4. Select View Analytics. Insightech will recreate a session replay of a specific page URL and automatically overlay the visual form analytics
    1. There are two types of Visual Form Analysis ('Most Clicked' and 'Last Clicked') found in your session replays
  5. Analyse your website based on the associated user data and metrics
    1. The red number shows the rankings of each inputs made on the webpage. 
    2. The black number the amount of inputs related to drop-offs
    3. The percentage (%) represents the proportion of users who interacted with the element

5) Analyse your First Page Analysis Report

Page Analysis Reports identify the top pages tracked across your website and which of those pages have the highest and lowest engagement rates for any audience you want to look at. To access Page Analysis Reports,

  1. Navigate to Dashboard → Page Analysis
  2. Input the page URL and device type that as you would like to analyse (optional)
  3. Click Continue. Insightech will generate a list of page URLs that include high-level engagement metrics about your website. These include,
    1. Page Views
    2. Click Rate
    3. Median Scroll Depth
    4. Median Duration
  4. Select View Analytics. Insightech will recreate a session replay of a specific page URL and automatically overlay the Clickmap Report Metrics
    1. There are three types of Click Map Report Metrics ('Links' , 'All Elements' 'Last Element Click') found in your session replays
  5. Analyse your website based on the associated user data and metrics
    1. The red number shows the rankings of each click made on the webpage. 
    2. The black number the amount of clicks related to drop-offs
    3. The percentage (%) represents the proportion of users who interacted with the element

6) Share Insights with the Team

Create notes to bookmark moments of interests in any session replay so you can easily share comments and insights with your team. All notes can be tagged and go into a searchable list to allow members in your team to jump into the exact point of a customer experience.

Creating a Note

  1. Pause any replay exactly where you'd like to save the note
  2. Click the Add Note under the Notes tab on the right hand menu.
  3. Write down comments and findings
    1. Edit text with different tools or include additional links, images or code snippets
    2. Give your notes relevant tags
      1. Type within the Tags Form Field to create a new tag
      2. Select from a drop-down menu for saved tags
  4. Click Save to complete the note.
  5. Click the Link Icon on a Note to generate a shareable URL to copy and paste to your team.

All saved notes are displayed on the right hand panel of replays they are saved in and under the notes navigation menu.

7) Access the Insightech Knowledge Base

Use the Insightech Knowledge Base to manage your account or learn about different features and use-cases. To do so,

  1. Click Dashboard Support found on top-right of your platform OR input support.insightech.com into your browser
  2. Search for Account Management, Platform User Guide, Insightech Optimisation Playbook and FAQ page
